Before you think I've gone daft and am in some serious need of Omega 3s to enhance brain function, let's think about what that question means.
What is food to you? You might have a different viewpoint to me and the next guy/girl.
Here's what I call "food."
It's something which -
- Naturally comes from the world we live in - its perishable, it came from the ground, it could run, swim or fly.
- It has one ingredient.
- It's full of essential vitamins and minerals as well as phytonutrients which we need as human beings.
- It’s NOT full of processed rubbish like high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated fat and other inferior ingredients.
To me food nourishes the body! It doesn't do the opposite. It works with you, not against you.
It's getting back to basics using the food which granny told you to eat!
For breakfast: steak pan fried in grass fed organic butter along with organic eggs, spinach and kale is a proper start to the day. Not processed cereal, toast and jam.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a slice of cake or 3 from time to time. But I eat that for other reasons. To nourish the body and support all of the systems within it, "food" to me is what I described above.
I'd genuinely be interested to hear what you have to say on this topic?
Also, what is 'eating clean'? Do we fully understand the whole 'clean' concept? I speak to people all the time who believe eating 'clean' is to cut carbs to the bone and remove all traces of fat! Sometimes, people’s perception of ‘clean’ maybe doing them no favours at all.
