Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAAs) are regularly utilised by all types of athlete who require power, strength, endurance & stamina in their sports. BCAAs are also associated with the maintenance, preservation & growth of lean muscle mass.
BCAA (Branched Chain Amino Acid) supplementation, can promote muscle protein synthesis and increase muscle repair, recovery and growth. BCAAs can also be beneficial in preventing fatigue in exercise.
Whilst a large percentage of Branched Chain Amino Acid consumption will be provided by protein-rich foods, supplementing with BCAAs for the hard-training individual will bring rewards, specifically under certain circumstances such as ‘protein-fasted’ training and intra-training applications.
BCAAs are comprised of the three amino acids, Leucine, Iso-Leucine and Valine.
Leucine is responsible for muscle protein synthesis (MPS) and is the most ‘anabolic’ of amino acids. Iso-Leucine is responsible for glucose uptake in to the cells. Although not a lot of specific research has been conducted in to the role of Valine, current studies suggest its use within the body to be similar to that of Leucine, albeit in a weaker state.
Taking BCAAs pre and intra-training will prevent a decline in blood-serum BCAA levels, therefore preventing potential tryptophan influx into the brain, which would in turn increase serotonin thereby leading to fatigue.
Note: If training fasted, we would suggest the use of BCAAs is crucial to muscle preservation during training.
Genetic Supplements BCAAs are a quality formulation of the essential amino acids Leucine, Iso-Leucine & Valine. They are considered essential because human beings cannot survive unless these amino acids are present in the diet. Together they comprise approximately 1/3 of human muscle tissue and are essential in muscular repair, growth, recovery and performance.
Genetic Supplements BCAAs also include energy releasing vitamin B6 which also contributes to protein and glycogen metabolism.
Directions for use:
Take 5-10 tablets pre training. Take 5-10 tablets twice daily (or as required) on non-training days to supplement wholefood protein intake
