It is really important that you clean your shaker bottle properly after every use. Any left over residue from your protein powder or shake that has not been cleaned out will develop bacteria, that could become harmful if left to fester and reused before cleaning.

The best tactic is to rinse your shaker bottle with cold water once you've finished the shake, and then clean them thoroughly after every workout.

Do I need a protein shaker bottle?

Our protein shaker bottles are 600ml volume with a blending ball inside to help ensure a smooth, easy-drinking protein shake., even on the go. Using a shaker bottle is not essential, but are highly-recommended to get the most out of your shake. We would always recommend using a shaker bottle orblender to get the best results.

How to clean a protein shaker bottle?

Clean the lid, shaker call, and shaker separately in warm soapy water using a soft bristle brush and pipe cleaner for the straw. Rinse. Dry with a clean towel, and leave upturned to remove any remaining moisture.

We recommend against using a dishwasher as frequent dishwasher cleaning can damage the seal of the bottle.

Why does my protein shaker bottle smell?

This is generally due to bacteria build up, through infrequent cleaning or unwashed shaker bottles being exposed to hotter temperatures (such as leaving an unwashed bottle in a hot car all day).

To get rid of the bad odour mix 4 tablespoons of baking powder with 4 tablespoons of white vinegar, and leave in the shaker bottle (with the lid off) overnight. Rinse thoroughly in the morning.

What is the benefit of a protein shaker bottle?

Protein, fats, and insoluble fibre, that are found in protein powders can clump together with water molecules as they are hydrophilic, which can make achieving a silky-smooth texture to your shake difficult without the use of a shaker bottle or blender.
