Genetic Carb Uplift

Our Carb Uplift is a GDA supplement (Glucose Dispersal Agent) that helps you to maximise the benefits of carbohydrates (like the increase in energy for high-intensity training and protein synthesis) while minimising the downsides of increased carbohydrates - mainly increased body fat.

Active ingredients such as Alpha Lipoic Acid, Berberine, Olive Leaf Extract, and Vitamin B7 help to control the insulin hormone that determines how carbohydrates and glucose are used and stored in your body - helping to convert the carbs into glycogen in your muscles, rather than storing the sugars as body fat.

You know carbohydrates. You eat them all the time. Many of them are delicious. But what are they really, and how are they impacting your body?

Carbs are a macronutrient needed by your body to give you the energy to get around, let alone fuel your high-intensity training sessions. They are made up of sugars, starches, and fiber. Simple carbs (found in things like sugary drinks or confectionery) are digested more quickly and can lead to a spike in blood sugar levels (hyperglycemia). Complex carbs (found in fruits, vegetables, and wholegrain products for example) are broken down more slowly, giving you a consistent gradual boost of energy.

The downside is that excess carbs can be stored as body fat.

Glucose Disposal Agents (GDA's) are essentially your best friend when it comes to maximising the benefits of carbohydrate intake without building up body fat.

As you consume carbohydrates through diet they are broken down into glucose which is then either used as energy in the muscles, or stored as triglycerides in your adipose tissue (body fat). During this process it's insulin that directs your body to convert the glycogen into body fat.

GDA's help influence your insulin to store the carbohydrates as glycogen in the muscles rather than as body fat.

Amino Acids are often described as the “building blocks” of protein, and although there are 20 in total that your body needs to help build and repair muscle, nine of them cannot be produced by the body – these are considered the essential amino acids, and must be obtained from diet .

Three of those nine are the Branched Chain Amino Acids (or BCAA’s) which have a different structure to other essential amino acids, allowing them to be oxidised directly by skeletal muscle and used as energy during training.

Our Carb Uplift contains the essential amino acid Iso-leucine helping you maintain peak performance by alleviating muscle fatigue and soreness.

Biotin (Vitamin B7) helps your body to metabolise fats, carbohydrates and protein, helping to convert your food into energy. It helps to keep your eyes, skin, hair, nails, liver, and nervous system healthy.

ALA (or Alpha Lipoic Acid) is a powerful anti-oxidant present in your diet through foods such as red meat, green vegetables like broccoli and spinach, and potatoes. It is present, and works in every cell in your body as it is (uniquely) both water and fat soluble.

There is evidence to suggest that it can help lower blood sugar levels, slow aging in the skin, and improve nerve function.

However, in our Carb Uplift supplement ALA is used as the active ingredient to help control insulin and promote weight loss.

A natural supplement, the Olive Leaf is a key part of the widely popular Mediterranean diet - admired for the greater life span and the relatively low rates of chronic diseases.

As well as being a powerful anti-oxidant that supports your immune system and can lower your risk of disease, Olive Leaf extract can improve your cardiovascular health, lower your risk of diabetes, and help prevent conditions like cognitive decline, cancer and osteoporosis.

In our Carb Uplift supplement, the olive leaf extract helps your body reduce its insulin resistance - as well as giving you all the supplementary benefits above.

Berberine is one of the most effective natural supplements around, with a long history of use in traditional medicine.

It is a bioactive compound that is extracted from plants (including Turmeric), with a wide-array of benefits including weight loss, lowering cholesterol, helping to fight infections, as an antioxidant, an anti-inflammatory, and there is evidence to suggest it can reduce the growth and spread of various types of cancer.

In our Carb Uplift supplement, the Berberine helps to control the use of insulin, reducing the spike in blood sugar levels and ultimately helping to support weight loss.

Suggested Use

Take one serving (4 capsules) pre-training and one serving (4 capsules) post-training. Ensure your post-training serving is taken with carbohydrates. On non-training days take 4 capsules with your chosen carbohydrate meal(s).
