Resveratrol is the component found in red wine that is associated with life extension and a multitude of other health and anti-oxidative properties. Resveratrol is also documented as improving insulin sensitivity. To improve insulin sensitivity basically means that the body needs less insulin to do its job following the consumption of carbohydrates and the more we can improve this, the better we can handle glucose by insulin secretion.
